Three suspects have been charged in the alleged home invasion where a cell phone and a safe were taken.

The incident took place Friday at about 10 p.m. on Ford’s Creek Road, said Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Shane Tucker.

Apparently the victim was home alone when two of the three suspects invaded her home. Tucker said one of the suspects forced his way through the front door, pushed the victim to the floor and held her down while a second suspect took her cell phone and her safe.

The two suspects fled on foot before getting into a black Kia driven by a third suspect. The victim had to go next door to alert a neighboring family member since the suspects had cut the power to her home at an outdoor breaker box prior to the invasion, Tucker said.

The suspects later gained entry to the safe but deputies recovered most of the items that were in the safe. All three suspects, identified as Richard Grant Jr. 19, and Jamie Howard, 17, both of Pinecrest Drive and Shawn Saul, 20, of Saul Drive, were charged with simple robbery and residential burglary. Tucker said Howard is being charged as an adult.
