Gregory Linson of Picayune was found guilty of the sale of cocaine by a Pearl River County jury, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s Office.

Since Linson is a habitual offender, he was given 60 years without the possibility of parole by Circuit Court Judge R. I. Pritchard III. Linson had been previously convicted of receiving stolen property in Pearl River County in 1992, conspiracy to sell a controlled substance in 1994 and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in Pearl River County in 2000, the release states.

The case was tried by Assistant District Attorneys Lauren Barnes Harless and Morris Sweatt.

“The jury found Mr. Linson is a drug seller. In addition the court found he is a habitual offender. There is no place in our district for a person like Mr. Linson. We would like to thank the Picayune Police Department for their investigation of this case,” District Attorney Hal Kittrell said in the release.
