Travelers Companies Inc., the largest commercial property casualty insurer in the state, is locating a new Claim Customer Service Center in Jackson, creating 75 new jobs.

Gov. Haley Barbour said in a statement that Travelers had a proven record of commitment to the state and the region. He said the announcement shows Mississippi is an attractive state for business expansion.

The Center, to be located in the UBS Building off Interstate 55, is expected to open in May.

The Center will answer toll-free claim reporting numbers, compile information from customers, and assign claims to claim handlers for further investigation and resolution.
