Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Homer Dupuy Lumpkin, 86, of McNeill who passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008 in McNeill.

Burial will be in the Sones Chapel Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.

Elder James McCraney will officiate at the service.

A native of Pearl River County, he was a farmer, truck driver and a plant worker. He was also a member of the Sones Chapel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Janet Mitchell.

Survivors include: his wife, Leola Lumpkin of McNeill; six children, Lavert Penton; Johnny Wayne Lumpkin; Jimmy Steven Lumpkin; Melanie Sue Fore; Homer Michael Lumpkin and Sandra Kaye Seal, all of McNeill; two sisters, Mary Dell Smith of Laurel, Miss., and Elly Nae Robertson of Florida; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.

McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune is in charge of the arrangements.
