I, Patrick A. Collins, would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the office of Justice Court Judge, Northern District.

I promise to be “Your Judge For The People” by making all decisions based on the evidence and the law with honesty, integrity and careful consideration. It is my intent to review upcoming cases in order to study the current laws and statutes pertaining to cases prior to the court date. Doing so will insure that procedures and judgments are fairly ruled upon in a timely fashion. If I am presented with an unfamiliar circumstance, I will obtain assistance from legal counsel as expeditiously as possible prior to making a ruling. My job dictates that I judge your case based on the merits of the evidence presented to the full extent of the law, and I will do so with the utmost of integrity for you, the people of Pearl River County.

Born in Hazelhurst, my family moved to Pearl River County when I was an infant. After high school graduation, I was afforded the opportunity to attend college on a four-year athletic scholarship. Upon receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, I returned to Pearl River County to work within my beloved community.

My wife of 13 years, Joyce Marie Wiley, and two daughters, Channing and Chantel, are proud to support me in this effort. Joyce works as a dedicated teacher’s aide in the Poplarville Lower Elementary School and she understands the needs of our community.

All too often our youth leave for college and do not return home. A safe and just environment is a necessary step to enhance the quality of life here to foster positive growth and good jobs. We all need to do our part to make Pearl River County a place where we can not only be proud to live, but one which has the jobs and living environment that keeps our families together. Together we can make a difference.
