Virgie Legendre Daspit, 84, of Slidell, La., passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Wife of the late Edward A. Daspit, Sr. Beloved mother of: Edward A. Daspit, Jr., Stephen P. Daspit; Virgie Marie Penouilh, Donia Eberly, Maureen Daniels and the late James E. Daspit. Sister of Elsie Welch and the late Aline Moncla.

Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A native of Beaumont, Texas and a resident of Slidell, she was a secretary in the insurance industry and a devoted homemaker. She loved life and life loved her back.

Relative and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd., West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 7 p.m.

The Rev. Carroll Townsend will officiate.

Private family inurnment at a later date.

Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until funeral time.
