The tools lost from a McNeill Volunteer Fire Department rescue truck have been recovered and returned.

Fire Chief Melvin Glidewell said the cutter and spreader that are part of the department’s jaws of life have been returned to the department and are back in action.

Monday night the individual who found the cutter returned it to Glidewell. Glidewell said the individual saw the tool fall from the rescue truck Saturday and returned it to the station Monday.

Glidewell used the description of where the individual found the cutter to locate the spreader in a ditch. Both tools have been tested and are back on the rescue truck.

The two tools have a total value of $10,451.
