Blue Devils spirit appeared to be broken early in the game when the ball was stripped from Devil back Josh Lee at about the 50 yard line by Aggie Defensive Back Dontrelle Sanford who returned the fumble for a touchdown.

It was the first of 39 unanswered points for FCAHS.

“We started the game, we dropped the ball, and we had a fumble and we just started killing ourselves and it went down hill from there,” Devils Head Coach Jeremy Weir said.

Sanford later scored on a 10-yard run, while Aggie quarterback Cory Danner completed 11 of 17 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns..

Danner threw both scoring passes to Bobo Morgan, the first a 43-yard touchdown pass and he later found Morgan for a 63-yard score.

“We had some big plays there early in the first half and they kinda got us going,” Aggie Head coach Larry Dolan said.

Michael Griffin scored the Aggies’ final touchdown on a 43-yard run.

Touchdowns from Devil’s Ben Lee and Cody Ladner kept the team from a shut-out defeat.

Lee’s touchdown came with 8:08 left to play when he scored on an 8-yard run.

Ricky Chisum then hooked up with Cody Ladner on a 10-yard touchdown pass just as time expired to end the scoring.

The Devils will play an away game at D’Iberville next week, which Weir said is the second best team in the district next to Picayune’s Maroon Tide.

“No doubt they’re good, better than anybody we played yet. But I promise you this, we’re going to come out ready for them,” Weir said.

Forrest County hosts Vancleave on Friday.
