Rev. Sim Poole Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 12 p.m. in Sweet Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Perkinston, Miss., for the Rev. Sim Poole Jr., 68, of Poplarville, who passed away August 14, 2007 at George Regional Hospital.

Dr. L.C. Firel will officate at the service. Burial will be in the Rose Park Cemetery in Poplarville under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Poplarville he was a minister and a member of Green Grove Baptist Church of Poplarville. He was a former pastor of Sweet Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Perkinston and was a moderator of the 2nd Sweet Pilgrim Asst, vice-president of Spring Hill Triumph District and Sunday School Convention Devotional leader of the Mississippi General State Convention.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Lee Bertha Poole of Poplarville; three sons, Curtis Poole, Scottie Poole, Gredwood Poole, all of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Bertha Echols of Fredrickburg, Va.; one brother, Wilbert “Bill” Lee Poole of Slidell, La.; five sisters, Longa Bell Smith of Slidell, Thelma Poole, Estella Poole, Rosie Magee, and Sharon Poole, all of Poplarville; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2007, from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in Perkinston.
