Coast Electric Contract Crews working in Pearl River County

Coast Electric Power Association has contracted Carson Line Service from Laurel to clear distribution right-of -way in its service area.

Crews will begin work around August 20 in the Picayune area on the following roads: Liberty, Otis Stewart and Dumas Bailey. Line clearing in this area will take approximately five weeks. Crews will then work in the following areas in Poplarville: Progress, White Sand, Sam Smith, Holden, Homer Ladner and Osborn Moody Roads and Highway 11.

Crews will operate white utility vehicles with the green Carson logo. Any contractor can provide identification upon request.

Coast Electric hires contract crews to clear approximately 400-600 miles of line each year. In addition, Coast Electric maintains a Right-of-Way department that is responsible for the majority of line clearing on the cooperative’s 5,900 miles of line. Line clearing is a constant process throughout each year used to ensure reliable electric service.
