An Alabama man wanted on home repair fraud charges turned himself in to Mississippi authorities Monday.

The arrest is the 64th on felony and misdemeanor home repair fraud charges following Hurricane Katrina, a news release from Attorney General Jim Hood’s office said.

Roger Wayne Hendren, 48, of Daphne, Ala., allegedly took money to repair a home in Long Beach, but didn’t finish the work. The unnamed resident said Hendren failed to do most of the repairs to her home and those he did complete had to be redone.

Hendren turned himself in to the attorney general’s consumer protection division after being contacted by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. An arrest warrant had been issued by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Louise D. Ladner.

“We aren’t going to let up on those who are taking advantage of our coastal residents trying to rebuild after Katrina,” Hood said.

Ladner set Hendren’s bond at $50,000 and he is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
