A Houston, Texas, trucker was being held in the Pearl River County jail Saturday after his arrest for possession of 230 pounds of marijuana.

Willie Huff, chief of enforcement for the Mississippi Department of Transportation, said the marijuana was found Friday in a tractor trailer rig being driven by 37-year-old Henry L. Dixon Jr. Huff said the rig was pulling an empty flat bed trailer.

The rig had stopped at a weigh station in Pearl River County in south Mississippi when MDOT inspectors decided to look it over, Huff said.

Huff said the inspector became suspicious of the driver’s actions and answers to the officer’s questions. Huff said Dixon gave consent to a search of the cab.

Huff said the marijuana was found in the sleeper area of the cab.

Dixon has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Dixon was being held in the jail pending an initial court appearance.
