Romero Osby of Northeast Lauderdale scored 21 points and the North All-Stars set a record for most points Saturday as the North beat the South 117-86 in the Mississippi high school boys all-star basketball game.

Scottie Haralson of Provine scored 20 points and earned offensive most valuable player of the game. Osby earned defensive MVP.

LaSondra Barrett of Murrah scored 18 points to lead the North a 66-49 win over the South in the girls game. Saturday’s win is the fourth straight for the North.

In the boys game, the North led by as much as 24 points in the first half and had a 60-40 lead at halftime.

Rashanti Harris of New Hope scored 16, Jeremy Newsome of Okolona scored 13 and Vincenzo Nelson of Clinton added 11. The South was led by Terrell Kennedy of Forrest Hill with 15 points and Kenneth Barlow of Scott Central added 14.

The North has won four of the last five all-star games.

In the girls game, East Oktibbeha’s April Sykes added 14 points for the north and was named offensive MVP.

Barrett and Sykes, who led their teams to state titles last spring, scored the first six points and the North never trailed.

The North led 34-27 at halftime and took it’s largest lead on a Sykes 3-point shot that made it 63-47.

Ka’Neshia Smith of Pisgah led the South with 14 points and Martika Ivy of Southeast Lauderdale finished with 10.
