I, Ceddy Morris, would like to announce my candidacy for the office of East District Constable in Pearl River County on the Republican ticket.
I feel that my experience in law enforcement qualifies me to be a constable in Pearl River County. Most of my law enforcement experience has been with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department. I have worked in law enforcement for seven years and held the position of dispatcher, public school resource officer and deputy sheriff. I would like to serve as your constable enforcing the laws of Pearl River County; therefore, I am asking for your vote.
If elected, I promise to make my presence as constable known in the county. I will work hard to uphold the laws and perform the duties of constable. I will assist local law enforcement in the fight against drugs and motor vehicle violations in the east district by regularly policing our communities.
I am a life-long resident of Pearl River County. I am the son of Jesse and Claire Morris. I have been married to Stephanie Penton Morris for 11 years. We have three children and are expecting our fourth in August. I am a member of Church of The Way. I gradated from Covenant Christian Academy in 1994. I served in the U.S. Army for three years. I have earned 60 hours of college credit from Pearl River Community College. I earned my certification as a law enforcement officer from the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute in 2003.
I am seeking your support for East District Constable, but more importantly I would like to encourage you to make your vote count. I believe it is our duty as citizens of Pearl River County to vote. I urge each of you to go to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 7 and cast your votes no matter whom you choose to support. Every vote counts; you can make a difference in this very important election. God bless you.
