Picayune Main Street has ogranized a Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning August 4 at Jack Read Park on Goodyear Boulevard, thanks to the blessings of Mayor Greg Mitchell, City Manager Ed Pinero and City Council members Jerry Bounds, Lavern Guy, Anna Bales Turnage, Donald Parker, and Larry Watkins.

“This is a place where local farmers and gardeners can sell fresh produce, other agricultural products, and green plants to members of the general public. Fresh baked goods, jams, jellies, and homemade preserves will be allowed. No flea market items or store bought produce or merchandise will be allowed,” Main Street program manager Reba Bebe said.

The market will be open at 7 a.m. All vendors are encouraged to be set up by that time. This is not a wholesale marketplace. All items sold must be grown or producted by thee vendor, a family member, or employee that is doing the selling. Arts and craft vendors, if allowed, must have made the items they sell.

Booth prices are $10 per booth per day.
