Danny P. Johnson has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force.

Johnson is the Commander of Headquarters Air Education and Training Material Management Branch at Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The colonel has served in the military for 15 years.

He is the son of Danny R. and Cheryl L. Johnson of Henleyfield McNiel Road, Carriere, Miss.

His wife, Air Force Maj. Kimberly Johnson, is the daughter of John D. and Jonnie M. Bates of Taylor Drive, Hattiesburg, Miss.

In 1984, Johnson graduated from Pearl River Central High School, Carriere, and received a bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. He earned a master’s degree in 1994 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla.
