E. Ray Holman passed away on Friday, July 19, 2007. He was born in Depoy, Ky. and resided in Hide-Away Lake, Carriere, Miss. for the past 14 years. Ray served nine years in the U.S. Navy before joining the New Orleans Police Department. He served over 22 years, rising through the ranks from patrolman to Assistant Superintendent. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Milbrook Country Club. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3804. Ray was very active in the HAWL community and served several years on the Board of Directors.

He was the beloved husband of Linda Avants Holman; father of Kimberly Holman and Valarie Holman; step-father of Gregory Alexander (wife, Elisa); grandfather of Nathalie and Nicholas Alexander; son of the late Estil Holman and Julia Gray Holman; and brother of Edward, William and Loyd Holman and the late Lola Belle Camplin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune and may call one hour before service time.
