Ms. Ruby Stockstill celebrated her 90th birthday at Roseland Park Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. She was born May 12, 1917.

“She is everybody’s Aunt Ruby, and she was like the Pied Piper for children,” said her neice, Mary Jim Weems. “We all flocked around her and she saw to it that we all were in church.”

Ruby Robinson married Walter Stockstill and they made their home in the old Stockstill home place which she is pictured standing beside in the photo on the far left. The house has since been torn down.

“As a teenager, I remember spending most of my time at her home with her and her younger son, Cobert. Her older son, Jerry, lived down the road. He has since passed away,” Weems said.

Ruby Stockstill has one living sister, Margie Smith. Her other sister, Ruth Blackmon and her brothers, Frank, Ernest and Ralph Robinson have all passed away.

The Robinsons moved from Appison, Tenn. to Carriere to work in the Orange factory.
