Picayune City Council meets Tuesday

The Picayune City Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council’s Chambers at Picayune City Hall, 815 N. Beech St.
Included on the agenda are:
Presentation of certificate of accreditation from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission.
Consider the consent agenda:
— Minutes of the April 25 and May 1 meetings.
— Issuance of manual checks.
— Receipt of public records requests.
— Receipt of privilege license report.
— Planning Commission minutes of April 10.
Consider request to hang 15 scrolls with brackets on poles on 5th Ave. approaching Picayune Memorial High School.
Consider appointing member to Picayune Airport Commission to replace Alice McGrath for the remainder of her term through July 2008.
Consider new business:
— Bid for solid waste and rubbish collection and disposal and to enter into new contract.
— Urgent need resolution for 2006 Katrina supplemental CDBG.
— Request to accept audited financial statements of city for year ended Sept. 30, 2005.
— Acknowledge public hearing was held for Grand Oak Apartments on May 8 and submit public comments and concerns into minutes for proposed 136 unit complex on South Haugh.
— Request for conditional use to operate a mini-dachshunds kennel at 115 Dozier St., zoned C1.
— Request from Dennis Carlton of Race Track for variance to allow shrubs on the row and eliminate 10 percent interior landscaping requirements for vehicular use are for service station on Miss. 43 South or Memorial Boulevard.
— Request from Vivian Burch Martin Trust to rezone property at Miss. 43N and Adcox from C1 neighborhood commercial to C3 highway commercial, to rezone parcel 6171110010500100 on Miss. 43 from R-2 residential to C-3 high commercial, to rezone parcel 6171110010500500 from R-2 residential to C-3 commercial and parcel 6171110010200200 on Miss. 43 from R-2 residential to C-3 commercial.
— Public hearing for property cleanup at 305 Rosa St.; Green Acres Nursery, 6427 U.S. 11 N; 716 S. Curran Ave.; 718 S. Curran Ave.; Corner of Weems and Taylor streets, and parcel 617-111-001-02-023 at northwest corner of East Sycamore and U.S. 11 N.
— Request to set date for hearing on property cleanup for 1121 E. Jerusalem St.; 822 E. 4th St.; 600 Davis St.; parcel 617-515-002-08-007 on Juniper St.; 1624 5th Ave.; 321 Clark St.; 415 Clark St., and parcel 617-515-002-03-028 on Clark St.
