Rutha Azalea Butler

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Rockport, Texas for Rutha Azalea Butler, 60, of Carriere, who died Friday, March 16, 2007 in Slidell, La.

Burial will be in the Rockport Cemetery in Rockport.

A native of Rockport, she was a Bank Vice President and a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Frederick Morgan Butler, III of Carriere; her mother, Virginia Estelle Shivers of Rockport; two daughters, Ann Rene´Butler of Wheat Ridge, Colo. and Alison Butler Carter of Carriere; one son, Frederick Morgan Butler, IV of Carriere; one sister, Mary Martha Culpin of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Robert Arley Shivers of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Abigail Kathryn Carter, Jared Arley Butler, Samuel Morgan Carter, Caitlyn Celeste Butler, Mary Grace Carter and Olivia Ruth Butler.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 19, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Slidell Memorial Cancer Society Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.
