Leslie S. Trest, Jr., 85, of Picayune died Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Hattiesburg.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Picayune with Rev. Dr. Keith Warden officiating.

Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Leslie was born in Sandersville, Miss. and was an Electrical Engineer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Picayune. He was also a 1953 Alumni from Tulane University School of Electrical Engineering and formerly employed at the test site.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Trest.

He is survived by: one son, Dennis (Larry) Trest and wife Diane of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Dana Sheff of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one granddaughter, Erin Nicole Haines and her husband Robert Anthony Hanes of Jacksonville, Fla., as well as many nieces and nephews he loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Picayune.

McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
