A Harrison County judge has denied bond to a 17-year-old charged with capital murder in a double homicide.

On Tuesday, County Judge Robin Midcalf denied bond for Lazairian DeAngelo Murphy during a preliminary hearing in Gulfport. Midcalf did not act on bond for Junior Cleveland Green, 18, because Green was being held for state corrections officials for a probation violation.

Murphy and Green are among four teenagers accused in the slayings of Harold “Bucky” Levron and Christine “T.J.” Crittenden Suber on Dec. 15, 2006. Levron, 54, and Suber, 38, were shot after they walked in on burglars at Levron’s home, police said. Authorities said Suber was sexually assaulted. Both died of gunshot wounds in the head.

Last month, Midcalf denied bond to Larry Tyrese Minter, 18, and Darryl Simmons, 17, both of Gulfport and charged with capital murder in the case.

Midcalf has ordered the case be presented to a grand jury.

Prosecutors have said that if indicted, Minter and Green could be prosecuted under the death penalty. Simmons and Murphy would not face the death penalty because of their ages, prosecutors said.

On Tuesday, police Investigator Mark Clarite testified the four went to Levron’s home in search of guns and money. They left, Clarite said, with Levron’s pickup, bank card, ammunition from his safe and the gun Levron had in his back pocket. The gun, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered, Clarite said.

He said fingerprints and DNA samples have been sent to a crime lab.
