The Cajun Serama Council, the Louisiana Chapter of the Serama Council of North America (SCNA) cordially invites everyone to participate, either as an exhibitor or spectator in the Largest SERAMA Extravaganza ever held, to date, outside of Malaysia.

On Saturday, March 17th, 2007 hundreds of Serama Enthusiasts from through out the nation will converge on Vacherie, Louisiana for the 3rd Annual Cajun Classic. The granddaddy of SERAMA Shows (SERAMA ONLY) will be held at the Community Center, located on LA 644, at the curve, before La 644 merges with/into LA 643. The venue is a modern hall with lots of free parking.

Unlike ordinary chicken shows where chickens are kept cooped up, poked with a stick and seldom handled by the judge, a SERAMA Show is different in that each SERAMA is brought before a judge, placed on a platform and allowed to ‘strut it’s stuff’ for the judge and audience. Points, totaling 100 are awarded for Type, Character, Tail and Wing Carriage, Feather Quality and Condition. Class Champions and Reserve Champions will be selected for each of 10 different classes and an overall Show Champion and Reserve Show Champion will be crowned. Trophies and rosettes will be awarded to the Champions of each class, ribbons will be awarded each SERAMA scoring 80 or above. A special prize will be awarded to the individual selected wearing the BEST chicken costume.
