Melton has called the residence a drug house, and prosecutors allege the mayor, the detectives and Taylor used sledgehammers and other implements to damage the house during an Aug. 26 raid. Taylor was not charged.

The officers and Melton are charged with felony malicious mischief, two counts of conspiracy and one count of directing a minor to commit a felony. Melton and Wright also face a burglary charge.

Melton is scheduled for trial in April.
