Jeremy Wise scored 17 points as Southern Miss beat Southern-New Orleans 70-45 on Wednesday.

The win ended a seven-game home stand for the Golden Eagles (7-0), the longest to begin the season for the school.

The Golden Eagles are off to their best start since the 1985-86 season, when they also opened the year 7-0. Southern Miss played three NAIA schools during the stretch, including SUNO.

SUNO (2-5) has yet to win a game on the court this season. The Knights, who dress only eight players, received a pair of forfeits over Concordia College due to use of an ineligible player.

The Golden Eagles are off until Dec. 16th, when they travel to Mobile to meet the Alabama Crimson Tide.
