After Chapman was taken into custody, deputies continued their search and found more marijuana, according to a release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department. Combined with the amount Chapman tried to dispose of, there was approximately a pound of marijuana in the home, Lott said. The marijuana had been broken down into individual baggies, a release from the department stated. Also discovered was a small bag with approximately a gram of methamphetamine along with scales and baggies, the release states.

Chapman was carried to the Pearl River County Criminal Justice Center and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance. He is awaiting an initial appearance before a Justice Court Judge, according to the release.
