Terry beats Poplarville

TERRY — Terry ended Poplarville’s season Friday night, taking a 48-26 win in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Terry scored on its first five possessions of the game in earning the win.

The Bulldogs, now 11-1, had a pair of 100-yard rushers as Bariton Wilkerson scored one touchdown and ran for 157 yards while Antwon Dixon picked up 122 yards and scored two times as well. Rashun Dixon had 133 yards in receptions and scored twice on touchdown catches also.

Ike Bowden ran for a game high 192 yards and scored twice for Poplarville in his final game as a Hornet.

The teams were tied at 14-14 early, but Terry exploded for 24 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a commanding 38-14 halftime lead.

Poplarville ends the season at 8-4.
