Resurrection Life Church, 795 Memorial Blvd. in Picayune, will be hosting a banquet to benefit The Women’s Center for Domestic Violence on Sept. 16, 2006 at 7 p.m.

In 2005, Pearl River County’s only domestic violence center planned to have a fund raising banquet to help raise money for the shelter, but Hurricane Katrina quickly cancelled their plans. They have chosen Sept. 16 as the appropriate reschedule date.

Prime rib prepared by Stonewall’s and a variety of other foods prepared by the Resurrection Life congregation will be served. Although there is no charge for the dinner, the center is asking that people contact the church office at 601-798-4511 to let them know how many people will be attending so that they may make preparations accordingly.

There will also be an auction of handmade quilts made by a church member and Christian entertainment. Mr. Dub Herring, co-founder and board member of the women’s shelter, will be the guest speaker and testimonials will be given by women who have been helped by the shelter’s services.

Resurrection Life Church asks that people RSVP by Sept. 13 at 601-795-0083 or 601-798-4511.

The Women’s Center for Domestic Violence asks that people please remember this is a fund-raiser and to come prepared to give a generous offering for a worthy cause.
