Moss Point Alderman Alfred Bodden on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to a 13-count federal indictment that includes bank fraud.

He was released from the Harrison County jail on a $25,000 bond after having spent Monday night there. Bodden, 37, had been arrested at his home without incident on Monday, the FBI said.

During an initial appearance Tuesday before Chief U.S. Magistrate John M. Roper in Gulfport, Bodden was given a court-appointed attorney and a Nov. 6 trial date was set.

Bodden is charged with six counts of fraud, six counts of identity theft and one count of obstruction of justice. All are felonies.

Bodden, until recently, owned a car dealership called Al Bodden’s Super Center, said FBI spokeswoman Deborah Madden.
