A young adult lying in the road was struck by a vehicle Tuesday in Hide-a-way Lake.

Justin Pearson, 21, of 107 Placid Ln., was lying in the road for unknown reasons when he was struck by a car. The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department received two reports of the young man lying in the road prior to his being struck, said Assistant Chief Deputy Julie Flowers.

Pearson was struck by the vehicle on Big Pine Road in Hide-a-way Lake at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday with a vehicle driven by a juvenile, Flowers said. Pearson is reported to be in good condition with no broken bones, Flowers said.

“It appears he’s going to be OK,” Flowers said.
