Recently the district attorney’s office was notified that Pearl River Waste was sending out bills stating false claims.

Those claims stated that “unpaid accounts wil be given to the district attorney’s office for collection”.

According to a press release from DA Claiborne “Buddy” McDonald’s office that statement is not true. The district attorney’s office does not and has not collected past due accounts for any business, and it not allowed to under law, the release states. Bad checks are the only collection the district atorney’s office is allowed to handle under law, the release states.
