Operations for City of Poplarville will be closed for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. Waste Management will have regular pick up on Tuesday. Friday pick up will be on Saturday this week and next week.

City of Picayune Public Works Director Eric Morris gave a run down of waste disposal services for both trash and recycling.

“Monday and Tuesday there will be the normal pick up times. Thursday will happen on Friday and normal pick up on Friday will take place on Saturday. I am assuming that it will be the same for next week. This applies to recycling as well.

“In addition, Christmas tree pickups can be put on side of the road like they would do for rubbish. They can call 311 and schedule a pick up for the trees. Public works can be contacted either at 311 or 601-799-0602.”

“County offices will be closed the same as city offices, in accordance with the Governor’s scheduled days,” says Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison. “The Sheriff’s Department will be operating as we would any other day.”

Sheriff David Allison wished everyone a merry Christmas and safe holiday season on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department.
