The Picayune Item
The suspect in a strong armed robbery resisted arrest and later confessed to the crime, admitting he was going to purchase drugs with the stolen money, said Jeremy Magri, assistant to the chief of police. On Friday, Picayune police were dispatched to a quick stop on Beech Street in reference to a strong armed robbery, Magri said.
When officers arrived on the scene around 8:35 p.m., they spoke with the store clerk who reported “a male subject entering the store and approaching the beer cooler,” Magri said. The subject picked up a 16-ounce beer and brought it to the counter, he said.
