1 sentenced in 2007 Marion County slaying

AP

COLUMBIA A Columbia man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for his role in a 2007 armed robbery that led to a fatal shooting.

District Attorney Hal Kittrell says 21-year-old Joshua Moore was sentenced Friday in Marion County Circuit Court. Moore was convicted in October of manslaughter, six counts of armed robbery and one count of conspiracy.

Kittrell says Moore was one of three men accused in the slaying of 23-year-old Algeno L. Flowers in 2007.

Prosecutors say a group of people at a residence were playing a dice game when the men rushed into the building, ordered everyone to the ground and demanded money. They say Flowers was shot as the men fled the scene.
