Meadville veterans clinic closing

Associated Press

MEADVILLE Officials say the Veterans Affairs Meadville Clinic in Franklin County is scheduled to close its doors on Nov. 1.

That will force come area veterans on longer journeys to other facilities for their health care needs.

Mario Rossilli, a spokesman for the VA in Jackson, said a VA contractor will end a subcontract with Franklin County Memorial Hospital to operate the Meadville VA at the end of October.

He said veterans who had been receiving health care from the Meadville location would be able to attend any VA facility, with on facilities in Jackson and Natchez as the two nearest choices.

Rossilli said a new VA clinic is scheduled to open in McComb next summer.
