Authorities say a nurse’s assistant has been sentenced to probation, a fine and anger management for hitting a vulnerable adult in her care.
Attorney General Jim Hood says 53-year-old Shirley Mae Ishola entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of abuse of a vulnerable adult on Tuesday.
Pike County Justice Court Judge Aubrey Rimes ordered Ishola to pay a fine and court costs totaling $366. She also received six months probation and must complete anger management classes.
Ishola was working at McComb Extended Care when she struck a resident in the head.
She is prohibited from working at a facility that accepts Medicaid or Medicare for five years.
