Pedestrian killed in Amite County

Associated Press

LIBERTY A 45-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking down Thompson Road near Liberty.

Amite County Sheriff Tim Perkins said Ann Nunnery of Liberty died Friday night after being run over by two vehicles.

Perkins said Nunnery was walking west in the eastbound lane when an eastbound van struck her, followed immediately by a car.

The driver of the car sustained what appeared to be moderate injuries and was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center by ambulance. The driver of the van was not injured.

Perkins said Nunnery was wearing a black shirt and camouflaged pants.
