Appeals Court upholds manslaughter conviction

AP

JACKSON The state Court of Appeals has upheld the manslaughter conviction of Terrance Gary in the 2006 slaying of 17-year-old Louis Antwan Trevillion.

Gary, of Hermanville, was convicted in Claiborne County in 2008. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the body of Trevillion was found in the parking lot of a store in Hermanville. An autopsy showed the teenager died from a single gunshot wound that traveled through his arm and into his lungs and heart.

Prosecutors say Gary fired shots into a crowd during fight between his brother and Trevillion.

The Appeals Court on Tuesday rejected Gary’s claims that the evidence didn’t support his conviction.
