BREAKING NEWS - Body found in the Pearl River identified

WESSON A body found last week in the Pearl River in Copiah County has been identified and his death has been ruled a homicide.

DNA samples confirmed the body as that of 26-year-old Sherrell Hogan of Jackson. Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart said Hogan had one gunshot wound to the chest.

Stuart was reported missing to the Jackson Police Department and had been missing since March 6. His body was found March 23 by a fisherman just north of Mississippi Highway 28 in Georgetown.
