Picayune swept Pearl to advance in the Class 5A South State prep baseball playoffs over the weekend while Pearl River Central got swept by Stone County.
The Maroon Tide beat the Pirates 7-2 Saturday night in Carriere and then Jacob Taylor pitched a one-hit complete game shutout as Picayune beat homestanding Pearl 1-0 Sunday afternoon to wrap up the best of three series.
Picayune will play the winner of the East Central-South Jones series beginning on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils lost Saturday afternoon to the Tomcats 2-1 in eight innings on the road ending that series as well.
Poplarville's game with North Pike was rained out Saturday and will be played Monday.
