The Gulfport Admirals cruised into town Friday night and swept the team titles in the Picayune Invitational track meet.
The Lady Admirals scored 126 points to outdistance runner-up Poplarville with 100 points for the girls title followed by Pass Christian with 98, Picayune 94.50, Hancock 60.50, Long Beach 60, Bay High 44 and Pearl River Central with 18 points.
The Maroon Tide was led by Sarah Richard who won the 200m dash with a time of 26.30 and placed second in the 100m. Lacey Polderman claimed top honors in the 400m in 1:00.90. Kiera Bell took first in the discus with a throw of 87' 10" and second in the shot put.
Other top three finishers for the Lady Maroon Tide were Myeshia Rankin (2nd, 100m hurdles), the 4x100m relay team (2nd) and Shaniece Powe (3rd, high jump).
Poplarville was led by Shaneshia Huderson won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.31. The 4x200m relay team crossed the line first with a time of 1:48.90. Jenascia Peters claimed the long jump with a leap of 16' 10 1/2" and the triple jump with a jump of 33' 11". Naomi White earned top honors in the shot put with a throw of 33' 2".
Other top three finishers for the Lady Hornets were Raven Henry (3rd, 100m; 2nd, 300m), Myrah Davis (2nd, 200m), Tamera Henry (3rd, 1600m) and Tyra Huderson (3rd, discus).
The top PRC girls finisher was Victoria Beccerra who was fourth in the long jump.
The Admirals claimed the boys title with 105 points followed by Hancock wirh 86, Picayune 82, Long Beach 75.50, Pass Christian 56.50, Poplarville 55.50, Bay High 49 and Pearl River Central with 43.50 points.
The Maroon Tide was led by Desmond Taylor who won the 200m dash with a time of 22.96 Jake Polderman won the 1600m run in 4:49.10 and placed third in the 800m run.
Picayune claimed the top spot in all three relays. They won the 4x100m relay in 43.10, the 4x200m relay in 1:30.30 and the 4x400m relay in 3:36.50.
The Maroon Tide's 4x100m relay team was made up of Doug Cross, Russell Whitehead, Desmond Taylor and Kadarius Cross. The 4x200m relay team was comprised of Doug Cross, Taylor, Tyler Smith and Coren Nixon. The 4x400m relay team was made up of Tony Washington, Jake Polderman, Jaylin Dees and Abram Fletcher.
Coren Nixon of Picayune was the winner of the boys 100m dash with a time of 10.97. Bryson Penton of PRC placed third in the event..
DeMarcus Harrelson finished second in the shot put.
Pearl River Central was led by Caleb Mitchell who won the 3200m run with a time of 10:44.90 and placed second in the 1600m run.
Bryson Penton won the 300m hurdles with a time of 41.20.
Poplarville got three first place fimishes from Anthony Martin in the pole vault (10'6"), Stephon Huderson in the triple jump (37'10") and Austin Rancatore in the discus (127'5").
