CARRIERE — The Pearl River Central Blue Devils are off to quite a successful start in the prep soccer season.

Head coach Joe Weems’ team is 8-0-1 after a big 2-0 division win over D’Iberville on Tuesday night.

The Blue Devils stand 2-0 in league play with the win, and have a huge division game against St. Stanislaus set for Friday.

Against the Warriors, Pace Frierson scored both goals for PRC on assists from Brady Jordan and Tyler Alexander.

Brant Graham continued his fine work in the net for the Blue Devils this season, as the goalie recorded the shutout win making six saves.

Weems credited Ashton Lancaster, Austin Creel and Brandon Lee for great efforts on defense helping preserve the win.

The Blue Devils were coming off a 4-2 win over Greene County Friday and also a 4-2 league win over Pearl River County rival Poplarville last week.

Against the Wildcats, Jacob Foulon led the way offensively with a pair of goals while Jordan and Frierson also recorded goals for the winning effort.

Graham got the win in goal with four saves, along with help from Lee and Ashton Seal defensively.

Against Poplarville, Graham got the win in goal with seven saves while Jordan and Alexander had two assists apiece and Frierson and Foulon had one goal apiece.

The Blue Devils got off to a successful start this season by winning the Stone County Tournament to kick off the current year.
