William Clinton “Bill” Smith, 87, passed away in his home on Thursday, August 29, 2013, while he was surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2013, from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Shane Freeman will officiate the service, assisted by the Rev. Matt Robinson.
Bill owned and operated the Spur Station on Hwy 11 North in Picayune for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1990. His many friends and customers could always find a hot cup of coffee and spirited conversation there. He was devoted to his wife, Irene, and cared for her until her death in 2003. He was a proud and loving father to his six children. He will be greatly missed by his children, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and five siblings; his wife of 54 years, Irene Smith; and his son, Don Smith.
Survivors include: his children, Carolyn Lee and husband Thomas, Marie Smith and husband Steven Lesser, Fred Smith and wife Susan, Billy Smith and wife Bo, Ann Adam and husband Gary; his daughter-in-law, Diane Smith; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
