Funeral Services for Marie W. Cuevas, 78, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Elder Gary Sumrall, Elder Dewayne Long, and Elder Joe Lott will officiate the service.
A native of Salem Community, Miss., she was a retired School Bus Driver with the Picayune School District and a member of Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Marie was a devout Christian who enjoyed crocheting, fishing, flowers, family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John B. Whitfield Sr. and Violet Lloyd Whitfield; her husband, Donnis Cuevas; and her three brothers, Sam Whitfield, Johnny Whitfield, and Leslie "Ted" Whitfield.
Survivors include: her two sons, David Cuevas and wife Sherry, Charles Cuevas; her daughter, Donna Wise and husband Yancy; her six grandchildren, Clifton, Kristal, Joseph and wife Nicole, Beth and husband Cory, Danae and husband David, and Daniel and wife Whitney; her four great-grandchildren, Owen, Cydnee, Katelynn, and Olivia; three brothers, Daris Whitfield and wife Von, Earl Whitfield, Dale Whitfield and wife Rae; and her two sisters, Gail Bryant and husband CJ, and Valerie Seal.
