Funeral Services for James RT Taylor, 94, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2013 from 6-9 p.m .at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lee's Chapel #1 Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jared Lee, the Rev. Randall Childs, and the Rev. Jeremy Buras will officiate the service.
A native of Pearl River County, Miss., he was a Brick Mason and a member of Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church. RT served in the 2nd Armored Division under General Patton in WWII. He was overseas in Northern France, Normandy, Germany, Africa, Italy, Belgium, and Sicily. He served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Arrowhead Medal and a ribbon from the French Conflict.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Griffin A. Taylor and Ada C. Taylor; his first wife, Milo Adcox Taylor; his daughter and son in law, Barbara Ann Taylor Dunn and husband Marshall; one brother and five sisters.
Survivors include: his wife of over 28 years, Julia Lee Taylor; his son, James Lutrelle Taylor and wife Meda; his two daughters, Wanda Ladner and husband Lynn, and Betty Moore and husband JE; 12 grandchildren: Julie Sokol and husband Kenny, Donald Ladner and wife Tracy, Jamie Ladner and wife Maria, Debbie Green and husband Bobby, John Moore III, Betsy Lott, Conshae McCrory and husband Mark, Sherwin Taylor and wife Rebecca, Griffin Taylor, Tesa Stockstill, Lynette Margetta and husband Chad, and Rodney Dunn; 22 great-grandchildren: Emily Theriot and husband Blake, Justin Sobol, Austin and Alayne Ladner, Maegan and Matthew Green, John IV and Kaylen Moore, Lily, Jacob, and Lacy Lott, Mark Jr. and Kyle McCrory, Colleen and Teagan Taylor, Brett Hoggatt, Naomi and Noah Stockstill, CJ and Ethan Margetta, Aaron Rodney and Sunny Dunn; and 6 great great grandchildren: Alissa and Allison Ladner, Dylan, Weston, Harley McCrory, and Alley Dunn.
