Lillie Beatrice Bonner
The Lord is my shepherd...Psalms 23rd
On November 4,1956 a lovely angel was born to Ethelyn and the late Henderson Bonner. They named this angel Lillie Beatrice Bonner.
Lillie accepted God as an early age at Little Providence Baptist Church. Her family moved to Houston in 1970. She graduated from George W. Carver High School, after graduation she attended nursing school at Malcolm X College in Chicago, Ill.
She dedicated her life to the loving care of her children, nieces, nephews and neighborhood children, during this time she became affectionately known as “Miss Lillie”.
Miss Lillie developed a career in nursing and social services until she became ill. She continued her journey of loving and helping everyone that crossed her path; through traveling the county advocating for AIDS awareness. She also served on the counsel of the Ryan White Foundation for several years. Her endless will to live was unmatchable.
Miss Lillie was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
Preceded in death by: her father, Henderson Bonner; and two sisters, Carmen Johnson and Cynthia Bonner.
She leaves to celebrate her memories: Mother and Step-father, Ethelyn and Johnny Williamson; two children, Melissa Bonner and Brian Jordan (Trudyanne “Tracey” Lopez-Jordan); four grandchildren: Makalia Blackshear, Ryan Jordan, Amani Jordan, and Kalea Bonner; three sisters, Donna, Nina, and Madeline; six brothers, Henderson, Carl, Elliott, Lester, Michael and Adrian; Longtime friend, Sandra Mayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Little Providence Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Hart will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Little Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
