Memorial Services for David Diamond, 6,9 of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Friday, August 9, 2013, will be held at a later date.
Burial will be at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
A native of Logansport, La., he was a veteran of the US Navy, having served two tours in Vietnam, advancing from Hospital Corpsman to Chief Petty Officer, then commissioned as a Medical Service Corps Officer, where he retired as Lieutenant Commander. After military retirement, he moved his family to Picayune, MS and operated The Lite House, an electrical & lighting supply business.
Most recently, he enjoyed motorcycling, RVing, traveling, and spending time with his granddaughter. He also performed numerous volunteer missions as a member of The Patriot Guard.
He was affectionately known to many as “Mr. D”.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Tillman B. Diamond and Martha Tindall Diamond; his sisters, Joan Bell, Eloise Sturgill, Melba Zwicky, and Judith Maples; and his brother, Lonnie Diamond.
Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Maria Ramsey Diamond; his sons, David Diamond and wife Pattie, and Cliff Diamond and wife Sabrina; his granddaughter, Emma Katherine Diamond; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Thomas and Marilyn Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his honor to Fisher House Foundation, a charity that provides a “home away from home” for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.
