Mrs. Dorothy Russell, 81, formerly of Picayune, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her home in Huntingdon, Tenn.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Brother Andrew Stokes officiated the services. Interment followed with graveside services on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Fair Ridge Cemetery in Stringer, Mississippi.
Mrs. Russell was born May 23, 1931, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Felix Reeves and Sidney Hale Reeves. She was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, a former member of the Unity Baptist Church in Picayune and the former owner of The Lady Bug Boutique. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddius Russell, three sisters, Wilma Grant, Marie Smith, Moetta Warbritton, two brothers, James Reeves and Earl Reeves.
She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn (Gary) Hatch, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Donna (Keith ) Lutenbacher, of Spring, Texas, two sons, Dean ( Patricia ) Carlisle, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Chuck Carlisle, of Houston, Texas, a step-son, Tim (Shirley ) Russell, Jr., of Jackson, Tennessee, two sisters, Lessie (Robert ) Carden, of Clarksburg, Tennessee, Loretta ( Charles ) McCay, of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, and a brother, Felix ( Essie ) Reeves, Jr., of Clarksburg, Tennessee. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Dilday – Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
