Funeral Services for Richard Earl Wilson, 75, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, and also Saturday, May 25, 2013, from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Dr. Keith Warden will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, he was a Quality Assurance Specialist for DCMC at Stennis Space Center. Richard was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune and was active in The Lamplighters Sunday School Class. He was deeply devoted to his wife of 54 years, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved cooking for his family, bird watching, and Ole Miss Football. Richard proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard from 1955 until 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Stanford Wilson and Annie Christine Schaller Wilson.
Survivors include: his wife, Leonora “Nonie” Ford Wilson; his children, Steve Wilson and wife Anita, Diane Wilson, Lori Lee and husband Brian, and Marcia Fleck and husband Jay; his five grandchildren, Kristen and husband Jonathan, Anthony, Stephanie and husband Jared, Emily, and Alyssa; his 2 great-grandchildren, Julianne and Jentry Stockstill; his brother, James “Red” Wilson, and his sister, Linda Wilson Gerber and husband Jerry.
