CARRIERE — Funeral Services for James E. Knight, 80 of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013, will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Brad Repolge will officiate the service.
A native of Magee, Miss., he was a general contractor and a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church. Papa was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His wife, children, and grandchildren wanted everyone to know what a great God-fearing man “Papa” was and how he inspired everyone with whom he came into contact. His love for his Savior shown in all of his daily life, wherever you saw him he was ready and willing to share his wisdom of his Savior. He was quick with a helpful word or helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, George Edward Knight and Maggie Inez Bishop Knight Taylor; his two sisters, Bett Scott and Sue Ponder.
Survivors include his wife of over 56 years, Yvonne J. Knight; his two sons, Henry Knight, George Edward Knight; his two daughters, Cynthia Venable, NIna McPherson; his eight grandchidren, Gregory, Nicholas, Amanda, Jacob, Scott, Brandi, Aaron, and Jared; his five great grandchildren, Noelle, Brodie, Aiden, Dawson, Peyton, and Brody; his brother, Bill Taylor; his sister, Mary Jo Taylor; many nieces and nephews.
